PSYCHOLOGY
Advanced behavioral analysis & suspect interviewing strategies
CFN’s founder, Dr Keith Ashcroft and his associates bring extensive expertise in investigative psychology, particularly in supporting police investigations of serious sexual and violent crimes against both children and adults. Our advanced methods translate deep behavioural logic into actionable investigative strategies.
Geographic Profiling
Our consultancy services specialise in behavioural analysis across various forms of offending, enhancing investigations through a deep understanding of criminal behaviour. By collaborating closely with investigative teams, we offer strategic and tactical advice, including advanced methods such as Geographic Profiling, to help guide investigations effectively.
Suspect Interviews
Our expertise also extends to the critical phase of suspect interviews, where we assist officers in crafting tailored interviewing strategies that improve the effectiveness and depth of the overall process.
Psychological Autopsy
A psychological autopsy is a retrospective investigative method used to reconstruct a deceased person's psychological state, intentions, and circumstances leading up to their death. It is most commonly employed in cases of equivocal death (e.g., suspected suicide, accidental overdose, or unattended death) to clarify the manner and cause of death.
Forensic Hypnosis
In addition, we are specialists in Forensic Hypnosis, a tool that can aid investigations by enhancing memory recall from complainants, victims, or witnesses. It is important to note that hypnosis is used solely to enhance memory and is not intended to determine the truth.
Due to the potential for confabulation during hypnotic sessions, all information gathered must be carefully verified and corroborated through thorough investigation. Forensic Hypnosis is never used with suspects or individuals charged with crimes.
